Are there Hidden Defects in the Home you are Buying. Watch Out!

No home is without flaws, but some physical problems are costly. . Look out for:

1. Water leaks. Are there stains on the ceiling? Or around the baseboards, in the attic or in the basement?
   
2. Shifting foundations. Watch out for big cracks along the foundatin of the home since they may be a sign of problems.
   
3. Drainage. Watch for standing water, nearr the home's foundation or out int the yard.
   
4. Termites. Check for weakened wood with grooves, particularly close to ground level. (Read the termite report carefully - make sure all areas were inspected!)
   
5. Worn roofs. Check for missing ot broken tiles, shinges or copingsalso buckled shingles plus water stains on ceilings.
   
6. Insufficient wiring. Check for fuse boxes that are antiquated, extension cords may be a sign of insufficient outlets and watch for outlets that aren't grounded ( no place to plug in the grounding prong. Many homes need upgrading for computers.
   
7. Plumbing problems. Extremely low water pressure, pipes that bang. . Turn on the shower, the faucets, etc.
