Seaside

Seaside, Ca. 93955 Real Estate

Seaside is just south of Monterey. Hard to tell where one starts and stops. It has a population of a little over 33,000. Adjacent to and sometimes thought to be part of Seaside, is the little town of Sand City, home of the Big Box Stores such as Costco, Office Depot and a number of other smaller, mostly chain stores.

Located on the Fort Ord portion of Seaside is California State University Monterey (CSUMB) also fondly called Fort Ord University. Also located in this area is the Monterey College of Law.  When Seaside acquired land at Fort Ord they also got a golf course – the Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Courses.

Seaside is considered one of the “sunbelt” areas as it has less fog than a number of the other Monterey Peninsula areas. Also from some of the higher areas you get beautiful ocean views!

If you are in Seaside near Highway 1 and Fremont Blvd junction, then look for Message Mountain. Actually it will be pretty hard to miss it as it’s a huge sand dune. Locals regular climb it and leave messages using brush to spell out birthday greetings, graduation messages, love notes for a special person and more.

If you are looking for Real Estate in Seaside, CA – either a home or investment property, Seaside is a little more affordable than much of the rest of the Monterey Peninsula.
